石蠟（paraffin）

石蠟是從石油、頁巖油或其他瀝青礦物油的某些餾出物中提取出來的一種烴類混合物，主要成分是固體烷烴，無臭無味，為白色或淡黃色半透明固體。石蠟是非晶體，但具有明顯的晶體結構。另有人造石蠟。

石蠟是石油加工產品的一種，是礦物蠟的一種，也是石油蠟的一種。它是從原油蒸餾所得的潤滑油餾分經溶劑精制、溶劑脫蠟或經蠟冷凍結晶、壓榨脫蠟制得蠟膏，再經溶劑脫油、精制而得的片狀或針狀結晶。用于制高級脂肪酸、高級醇、火柴、蠟燭、防水劑、軟膏、電絕緣材料等 ^[1]  。

石蠟分食品級（食品級和包裝級，前者優）和工業級，食品級無毒，工業級不可食用。

Paraffin wax from oil, mineral oil shale oil or other asphalt extracted in some of the distillate of a mixture of hydrocarbons, the main ingredient is a solid paraffin, odourless tasteless, white or pale yellow transparent solid. Paraffin wax is amorphous but has a distinct crystalline structure. And artificial paraffin wax.

Paraffin is a kind of petroleum processing product, a kind of mineral wax, also a kind of petroleum wax. It comes from crude oil distillation of the proceeds of the lubricating oil fractions by solvent refining, solvent dewaxing or by freezing crystallization, squeezing out of wax wax cerate, then through solvent deoiling, refined flake or needle crystal. Used for making high grade fatty acids, high grade alcohols, matches, candles, water-repellent agents, ointments, electrical insulation materials, etc. [1].

Paraffin wax is classified into food grade (food grade and packaging grade, the former is superior) and industrial grade, food grade is non-toxic, and industrial grade is not edible.
